Spring "BREAK"
Dear friend,

As I mentioned last week, unexpectedly, I have to go to Czech Republic
for the next two weeks. Fortunately, Ms. Miriam Brullova promised to
help and teach us very nice Slovak dances during the next couple of
weeks. Miriam has been dancing in folk dance groups in Slovakia for more
than 8 years. She also has a lot of experience with the ballroom dancing.
We shall follow the established pattern starting at 7 PM with the basic
and at 8 PM with more advanced dancing. I would like to invite all of
you to participate in all sessions and profit from this opportunity
since Miriam will be here only one month. Please invite also your friends
who may be interested in dancing.

Last Tuesday, during our Monthly dance and St-Joseph dance party, we
had an opportunity to welcome to Beseda Ms. Miriam Brullova, very
talented young Slovak guitarist, who played for us an example of the beautiful
music she will play at the concert organized by Beseda in cooperation
with the Slovak Embassy on Tuesday, April 20, 2004. The invitations (in
Slovak, English and French) are attached. Please print it, invite your
friends and distribute these invitations as much as possible.

Many members of Beseda went to see a very interesting Slovak film
"SVETLA A TIENE" (Lights and shadows) on Friday. After the film we had an
informal meeting with the film dramaturg Ms. Zuzana Zelinova and cultural
attache Mr. Ladislav Babcan and others from Slovak Embassy in Ottawa.
We learned a lot about this film and film production in Slovakia. We
also discussed a further cooperation between Beseda and the Slovak Embassy
and are looking forward to it.

Please note, that due to the conflicting dates for our Beseda Ball in
the spring we have arrange a possibility to have the Ball on other day,
Saturday, May 15, 2004. Please let us know, as soon as possible, if you
could participate on this day and how many people you could bring with
you. We need to confirm this date within the next few days since there
are others on the list that would need the hall on that day. Please
send an email or call Beseda ASAP.
